The index.bib BibTeX ascii file contains the description (in LaTeX format) of all the documents deposited in the local collection. The index.html file gives access to all the documents mentioned in the index.bib file. These files should not be edited. The update_index command updates the index.bib and index.html files. WHEN TO USE the update_index command? When a repository has been made, installed or removed, or when the description of a document in the a.bib file has been modified. To help you know if the index need to be updated, just observe if the out-of-date file exists (in the not_sent directory) or if the out-of-date flag appears in the header of the index.html file. HOW TO USE the update_index command? Go to the following directory: col/dpi.inpe.br/banon/1995/08.08.00.00/not_sent/library_service ( for example if the current directory is the one in which you have installed the initial collection (e.g. URLib), just execute the line cd col/dpi.inpe.br/banon/1995/08.08.00.00/not_sent/library_service ) then execute the line update_index OBSERVATION (the address file) The address file in the col/dpi.inpe.br/banon/1995/08.08.00.00/not_sent directory contains author's URL home pages. This file can be edited in order to update them or add new URLs. These URLs are used by the update_index command to create the author's hyper links which appear in the index.html file.
